ABOUT BOMB SEEDS
Bomb Seeds is an independent cannabis breeder built around one simple idea: create powerful genetics that perform just as well in the grow room as they do on paper.
The Bomb Seeds brand officially launched in 2009, but our breeding story started more than a decade earlier. Before there was a seed company, there was THC Bomb — an experimental strain that proved there was an audience for the kind of genetics we were developing.
When Bomb Seeds officially launched, THC Bomb was joined by Berry Bomb, Hash Bomb, Medi Bomb #1, Medi Bomb #2, Widow Bomb, Cheese Bomb and Buzz Bomb, with the original collection available across regular and feminized seeds. What had started as a small breeding project had become a dedicated seed company with a growing catalogue of Bomb genetics.
FROM A BREEDING PROJECT TO BOMB SEEDS
The story began on Australia’s east coast in the late 1990s, where early breeding experiments focused on combining potency with strong growth, heavy resin production and dependable yields.
One of those experiments produced a plant that immediately stood out. Its flowers developed an exceptional covering of resin and delivered the kind of potency we were looking for. That strain became known as THC Bomb .
At the time, there was no Bomb Seeds brand and no commercial seed company. THC Bomb was simply part of an ongoing breeding project. Its later success would provide the foundation for the company that followed.
The breeding project begins
Early breeding work begins on Australia’s east coast, with a focus on potency, resin production, yield and dependable growth. Among the plants developed during this period was the strain that would eventually become THC Bomb.
The genetics move to the Netherlands
The breeding project continues in the Netherlands, where THC Bomb joins Bomb #1 and Bomb #2 as the foundation for a wider breeding program combining our own selections with established European genetics.
THC Bomb reaches Dutch coffee shops
THC Bomb begins appearing in a small number of Dutch coffee shops. The reaction to the strain provides the first real indication that the genetics developed through the original breeding project could have a much wider audience.
Bomb Seeds officially launches
Following the success of THC Bomb, Bomb Seeds officially launches as a cannabis seed company.
The original catalogue includes THC Bomb, Berry Bomb, Hash Bomb, Medi Bomb #1, Medi Bomb #2, Widow Bomb, Cheese Bomb and Buzz Bomb, with regular and feminized seeds forming the foundation of the range.
The collection expands and Bomb Seeds hits the trade-show circuit
The breeding operation expands rapidly, adding 10 additional strains to the Bomb Seeds collection, including a selection of our first autoflowering genetics.
During this period, Bomb Seeds also exhibits at Cannafest in Prague for the first time, taking the collection directly to growers, retailers and the wider European cannabis community.
Bomb Seeds exhibits at the inaugural Product Earth
Bomb Seeds exhibits at Product Earth in Peterborough, helping introduce the brand to a growing UK cannabis community and continuing our expansion across the European trade-show circuit.
Gorilla Bomb launches
Gorilla Bomb joins the collection and goes on to become one of the most successful strains in Bomb Seeds history. Its combination of potency, resin production and strong growing performance made it a natural continuation of the breeding philosophy established by THC Bomb.
A new generation of US genetics
Bomb Seeds launches its first dedicated range built around contemporary US genetics, including Godfather OG Bomb, Runtz Bomb and THC Fritters.
The range brings newer American genetics into the Bomb Seeds breeding program while maintaining the potency, yield and reliability the brand had been selecting for since its earliest strains.
Bomb Seeds comes to the United States
Following the success of the US genetics range and growing demand from American growers, Bomb Seeds establishes a distribution office in New York.
For the first time, Bomb Seeds has a permanent base in the United States, allowing us to serve our growing American customer base more directly.
TAKING BOMB SEEDS TO GROWERS
As the Bomb Seeds collection grew, getting out and meeting the people growing, selling and working with our genetics became an important part of building the brand.
Between 2012 and 2019, Bomb Seeds regularly exhibited at cannabis events across Europe. These shows gave us the chance to meet growers face to face, introduce new strains and put the Bomb Seeds collection in front of a much wider international audience.
Our trade-show circuit included Cannafest in Prague, Product Earth in the UK, Spannabis in Spain, Cultiva in Vienna and North Grow in Denmark.
THE GENETICS THAT STARTED IT ALL THC BOMB
THC Bomb remains at the heart of Bomb Seeds today. It was the first strain to carry the Bomb name and became the genetic foundation from which much of the collection developed.
Over the years, THC Bomb genetics have contributed to new varieties and crosses including Gorilla Bomb , Berry Bomb and other members of the Bomb Seeds family.
We keep the exact parentage of THC Bomb closely guarded, but the breeding philosophy behind it has never changed: select plants that combine serious potency with the structure, vigor and reliability needed to perform consistently.

HOW WE DEVELOP OUR GENETICS
Every Bomb Seeds variety begins with selection.
Promising plants are evaluated for the characteristics we want to preserve before being worked across successive generations. Genetics are refined and stabilized before becoming part of the Bomb Seeds collection.
Today, our breeding and testing work takes place in Spain and the Netherlands under controlled conditions, continuing the European chapter of the Bomb Seeds story.
The process takes time, but that’s the point. We would rather develop fewer strains with a clear reason to exist than fill the catalog with short-lived crosses that haven’t been properly evaluated.

We know not everyone has a commercial facility, perfectly controlled environment or years of cultivation experience. That’s why reliability and growability matter just as much to us as THC and yield.

Bomb Seeds are produced under controlled conditions and checked for viability before release. We also back our seeds with a germination guarantee , giving growers additional confidence when starting a new crop.
Quality control continues throughout the breeding process, with plants selected for the characteristics we want to reproduce consistently rather than simply judged on a single standout phenotype.

Our head office is based in London, with breeding and testing continuing in Spain and the Netherlands. Our New York distribution operation supports our growing presence in the United States.
